1929 was also the year the Anderson-Nelson Company began constructing a six-story art deco apartment complex at 2615 Park Avenue. Martin Lindquist of Minneapolis designed the six story, fireproof structure as a state of the art structure. From the elegant art deco lobby with its gleaming terrazzo floors and walnut paneling to the attractive apartments boasting nine foot ceilings, tiled baths, solid core doors, crown molding, soundproof walls, eight inch concrete floors covered by a two inch layer of sand and finally an oak overlay, the building bespeaks the highest quality of construction not available in even the most expensive modern structures.

Truly a magnificent building. The enduring quality of construction coupled with the attention to detail adds to its unique character.

The year was 1929. The Roaring Twenties were coming to an end, and Herbert Hoover was President. In Minneapolis, the Foshay Tower was under construction. You could read about it in one of the city's three newspapers: the Journal, the Star, or the Times. It was the year the Minneapolis Red Jackets joined the NFL, and Washburn Crosby Company radio -- WCCO -- was assigned the frequency of 830.
